Head of Finance – (FD designate) Nigeria

My client is a large agricultural and food producer who dominate the agricultural landscape in Nigeria. One of their businesses is now looking for a No1 Head of Finance (FD-Designate) for the business in Nigeria.

Reporting to the General manager and Group CFO your role is to be responsible for the finance department, IT department , stores, sales, procurement and operational Data entry ( in total around 45 people). In summary as Head of Finance your role will be key and critical in the operational performance of the business.

You will also liaise with the Financial Shared Services, Inernal Audit, Legal and Insurance.

Specific finance responsibilities will include :

• Directing financial planning and strategy.
• Analyzing and reporting on financial performance – Internal  reporting, Board of Director reports
• Overseeing external and internal audit functions.
• Ensure group and company accounting policies are implemented and adhered
• Preparing forecasts and comprehensive budgets.
• Training accounting staff.
• Reviewing departmental budgets with GM and Departmental Heads
• Assessing, managing, and minimizing risk.
• Prepare and present the various investment appraisals of the business units and contributes to strategic decisions of the Company.
• Manage all accounting and management control aspects of the investment projects undertaken.
• Managing internal controls.
